About 10 years ago, the EU has issued a bill of restricting the usage of mercury and lead and other six hazardous materials, which set off a storm of protest in electronic industry. Recently, EU starts the modification agenda of the ROHS bill, the electrical and electronic equipment and semiconductor manufacturing equipment who once own immunity right have to face a new challenge. SEMI ROHS working group is actively communicating with relevant departments to avoid the worst possibilities of detection and control equipment and related parts and components to be listed in the ROHS bill.
A total of six hazardous substances listed in ROHS, including Pb, CB, Hg, Cr6+, PDBE and PDD. Because LED car lights belong to the electronics industry, it also needs solder, and solder contains lead, while the package of the led car light products contains cadmium. If limited these hazardous substances to minimum standards, it will be far-reaching meaning to LED car light products. Less solder will make led car light off welding and virtual welding, which impacts much on the stability and pass rate of the entire led car light products and make a greater welding technology requirement on workers. Increased cost makes the price of led car light increase, which makes led car lights more expensive for the original price of led car light is so high. Though led car light have many advantages, consumers would prefer opting halogen and HID lamps rather than led car lights.
